What is sand blasting and how it's work

Sandblasting is the process to clean with a jet of sand driven by compressed air. Sand is the most commonly used material, but since the lung diseases is extended by the cause of sand dust. Silica Sand Blasting uses compressed air, when the compressed air comes out from the nozzle with sand; it hit the material and cleans the surface.

How Sand Blasting Machine Works

There are different types of materials used in sandblasting, but the basic principle is same. A pipe fitted with a nozzle is attached to the air compressor that the worker uses to direct the blasting material where it's needed. There are different adjustments to control the amount of air and sand pressure. Too high pressure can be damaged the surface of item and it is depends upon the material hardness.

2. To clean the rough surface: It is used to clean the rough surface of any metal. Most of the industries clean their metal parts with sandblasting because it works faster than other cleaner and inexpensive.

3. To clean wall and Floor: It is also called concrete sand blasting. It removes paint from walls and also cleans the unwanted material.

Safety equipment for sandblasting operator:

a) Helmet:  It includes a head suspension system which allows the operator to move head, a view window with replaceable lens. Helmet must be consisting with air mask.

b) Hearing protection: use ear plugs so that sand dust doesn’t enter in the ear.

c) Body Protection: Body protection consists of various applications (Gloves, blast suit, long rubber shoes)

Overall, we can say that sandblasting is the effective method to clean any kind of surface much faster. It is inexpensive way, but many of the health problems are related with it. Always use safety equipment when it is performed in the open air.
